热烈祝贺我校胡望南老师荣获“海外华文教师优秀奖” PDF Print E-mail

7月23日,驻芝加哥总领馆刘军副总领事、雷红梅领事、童越善领事和郭金月副领事一行四人来到 Des Moines,为我校胡望南老师颁发了“海外华文教师优秀奖”。


刘军副总领事向胡望南老师表示祝贺,感谢他长期以来为海外华文教育事业所做的贡献,并希望他继续为华教事业奉献智慧和力量。胡望南老师获奖之后感到非常激动和自豪,认为这个荣誉不仅是他个人的,也属于爱华中文学校。


胡老师在我校1999年创办时就开始任教,是执教时间最长的一位老师。从中文初级班到高级班、成人班他都教过,学生们都很喜欢他风趣幽默、生动自然的课堂风格。


2014年底,为表彰广大海外华文教师在弘扬中华民族优秀文化,传播中国语言文字方面的突出贡献,国务院侨务办公室和中国海外交流协会决定评选并表彰一批优秀海外华文教师。这是继1999年、2007年和2011年之后,侨办第四次表彰海外华文优秀教师。


这次评选对候选人的资格有严格的要求:(1)必须是在岗华文教师;(2)教学效果、职业道德良好;(3)在海外华校累计教龄达到10年以上。收到评选通知后,校董会经过慎重考虑,推荐胡老师参加评选。最终全美有119名华教人士获奖。

据侨办提供的资料显示,目前全球有6000多万华侨华人,分布在世界近200个国家和地区。华文教育是面向这一庞大群体,特别是广大华裔青少年开展的中华民族语言学习和文化传承的工作。目前世界各地有各类华文学校约2万所,在职华文教师数十万人,在校学生数百万人。


国务院侨办正根据不同国家和地区状况,针对不同办学模式,研究推广一系列扶持帮助海外华文教育的政策。刘军副总领事说,华文教师是提高华文教育整体水平最关键的力量,希望通过这次评选活动,鼓舞像胡老师这样长期坚持教学的海外华文教师从教的积极性,激励更多有识之士投身海外华文教育事业。

新学年开学伊始,在与老师、学生、家长共同分享胡老师获奖喜悦的同时,爱华中文学校将继续实践我们办学的宗旨,为学生创造积极愉快的学习环境,提供高质量的华文教育服务。

Mr. Hu Wang Nan, the Pre-K Chinese teacher of Iowa Chinese Language School, has recently been awarded as an "Outstanding Overseas Chinese Teacher" by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of The State Council of The People's Republic of China.


On July 23, Deputy Consul General Liu Jun visited Des Moines and presented the award to Mr. Hu. Consul Lei Hongmei, Consul Tong Yueshan and Guo Jinyue were present.


Consul General Liu expressed his high respect and appreciations towards Mr. Hu who has devoted himself into Chinese education. Mr. Hu has been an excellent teacher at ICLS for more than 10 years and is very well liked by students and parents.


Consul General Liu said that overseas Chinese schools play a vital role in promoting Chinese language education and culture. The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office will be putting in more effort to support those Chinese schools. He is looking forward to the progress of overseas Chinese education and urges everyone to promote Chinese language education in the United States.


According to a report from The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, worldwide there are around 20,000 overseas Chinese language schools, 100,000 overseas Chinese teachers, and millions of students. This year the “Outstanding Overseas Chinese Teacher” awards have been presented to 119 outstanding educators from Chinese schools across the United States.


ICLS appreciates Mr. Hu’s contributions to our school and congratulates him for his accomplishment.

  3. Current information of student's doctor (name/phone number) and medical insurance (name/policy number)

B. Online registration:

  1. Log on ICLS website at http://www.IowaChineseSchool.org
  2. Click "Registration" on the menu at left to access the online registration site.
  3. Enter the information required and click the “Submit” button. You will receive an email with an eight-character validation code. You must use this code to continue your registration. If you do not see this validation email in your Inbox, please check the “Spam” folder in your email account.
  4. ICLS is a non-profit organization and depends heavily on volunteers to keep costs down. We encourage and need you to donate at least 2 hours per semester for school and classroom related duties, so really appreciate your signing up.

How and when to pay everything in full:

Bring your receipt if you registered it online. Pay full payment of your tuition on-site at the 1st day of each semester at Johnston High with either check or cash. We do not accept credit or debit card. Mrs. Joyce Fang will lead to collect your payments at Johnston High School.

Late Fees

August 31st, 2016 is the deadline to register or to drop a class. For the late payment (after this deadline), an additional $25 fee will be applied. According to our school registration policy, a full refund of tuition for that course will be granted before this drop deadline. Note that, the one-time new student enrollment fee ($25) is non-refundable.
